Quantify everything you can
Dollars, percentages, headcount, and timelines are the currency of a business resume. "Drove 4.2 million dollars in annual revenue by launching a partner program that lifted retention 18 percent" is a sentence that gets read twice.
If you do not have big numbers, small ones still work. Team size, hours saved per week, and error rates reduced all show impact.
Scope matters as much as the number
A 20 percent improvement means something different at a five person company than at a five thousand person one. Give enough context that the number lands. Mention team size, budget owned, or accounts managed.
Skills that belong on a business resume
- Systems you actually work in, like Salesforce, NetSuite, Tableau, or Excel at a specific level
- Methodologies you have used, like Agile, Six Sigma, or Lean
- Certifications like PMP, CPA, or Series licenses
- Languages, if the role touches international work
Common mistakes on business resumes
- Writing "responsible for" instead of what you accomplished
- Filling space with buzzwords like synergy, dynamic, or results-driven
- Listing duties that anyone in that title would have
- Going to two pages before you have ten years of experience
- Leaving off the numbers because they feel like bragging
